Welcome to Antama, a beautifully restored 19th-century traditional stone house in Crete, designed to offer you an authentic taste of Cretan village life. Refurbished with care and attention to detail, Antama combines tradition, comfort, and character — the perfect retreat for those seeking a peaceful, off-the-beaten-path experience and a chance to embrace the simple rhythm of slow living.

About Antama
The perfect place to escape.
Our traditional stone house is located in Melidoni, a historic Cretan village just 30 km from Rethymno, one of Crete’s four main cities. Melidoni is known for its rich history and authentic character, preserved to this day.

The house can accommodate up to six people. It's ideal for families, friends, or small groups.

There are three double bedrooms – two on the ground floor and one on the upstairs loft.

Each bedroom has its own bed. For your comfort, there are two queen beds and one double bed.

The house has got two bathrooms, which can be convenient for a larger group. Both have a shower.

The ground floor

The ground floor features two cozy double bedrooms, one of which once served as a wine cellar. The living room, with its traditional fireplace, invites you to relax after a day of exploring. The fully equipped kitchen offers everything you need to prepare your own meals or enjoy local delicacies from nearby Katerina's restaurant.





























The upstairs loft
Spacious and serene.
Escape to the spacious upstairs loft, bathed in natural light. The elevated platform bed adds a touch of unique character, while the open-plan layout provides ample space for relaxation, work, or study. A kitchenette allows for convenient meal preparation, and the private bathroom ensures comfort and privacy.
The outdoor courtyard
A peaceful oasis.
Step into the heart of the home – a traditional courtyard steeped in history. Admire the large terracotta pots, once used to store precious goods, and marvel at the ancient millstone that once ground olives for oil production. The wood-fired oven offers a unique opportunity to experience authentic Cretan cooking. When the sun shines, cool off in the sparkling pool or relax on the sunbeds, soaking in the tranquil sounds and scents of the village.
